Pb with French Keyboard S.O.S

A user in my office is using Windows 2000 SP4 English version and makes
French keyboard as the default. It is working well until the last week. The
button '[' is not working properly. Normally when you type '[' plus 'i', the
display should be 'î'.But at present, when you type '[', the display becomes
'^^' . Is there someone able to tell me how to deal with the problem. Thanks
in advance.
