just to get started. I just did exactly what was stated and don't really understand how it works. But it does and I am happy.
I could get as high as 350 FSB with the base settings (CPU x10). I set the CPU multiplier to x9 and upped the FSB to 400. That gives me 3.6 GHz on the CPU. I also looked up my memory on the internet and found that it runs @ 4-4-4-12 @ 800 MHz, so I plugged that in. Everything seems stable and temps are about the same as the 350 FSB settings. Saw an increase in mem performance. Results are here:
I think that's as far as I can push it. I had to up the mem voltage to 2.15 V to get this to work.
So, I now have a 3.6 GHz C2D with some screamin benchmarks. It's kinda funny in that I don't do anything that requires more than the stock e6700. Just getting ready for Vista. Anyone know where I can get a copy of Vista? Microsoft says the demo period is over. I guess I can wait till it comes out for real.
Anyway, I am going to stop here and see if it stays stable in the long run. Might download Memtest and see what that reveals.
