ok so i just got a radeon 9250 to replace my old gfx card. both the card and my mobo (a kt4v, kt400 chipset) support agp 8x. however, in the catalyst control panel, it says 0x, and i cant change it, either from there or from BIOS. whats wrong?
also, ever since i got the newer card, things on my desktop seem to lag more when dragged around. whats the problem here?
What drivers are you running for the 9250? What was your old video card?
well i just got the drivers straight off the ati website so im assuming there the latest ones, and my pld card was a geforce 2 mx (although i dont see why that matters, lol)
EDIT: bty even the old card was running at 4x.
hmm i just uninstalled the drivers thinking i would re-install them, but the links on the ati website for the download dont work. anyone know any mirror sites?
i got the new drivers and installed htem but im still being detected as 0x agp mode. the desktop lagging is gone though, so thats good. oh, and should agp read and write be enabled or not?
Sounds like the mother board drivers for the agp slot are not installed.Double check them and see if they are installed. You can do this by putting in the mb driver disc and it should automatically tell you if all the drivers are installed or not.If one or more are not installed, then the disc shoould take you into setup to install the missing drivers.Goodluck.
