my laptop has a broadcom chip that supports afterburn wich i think is the same thing as speedbooster. i also have a pc with a wirless g usb running from my wr54gs. by mixing g with gs will the router default to g only mode.

Yes, the Speedbooster technology is based off the Afterburner technology. You should have the router in a default "mixed" mode so that the laptop will have the GS speeds and the PC will have the G speeds...

Actually you want G only, so 11b will not degrade you performace.

so i should keep it on g only and not mixed mode.

Mixed mode is for users with 11b hardware. As you know 11b is a huge bottle neck. So rejecting all 11b devices keeps the speed set on HI, so 11g works better.

so i can run g and gs working from the same router and the gs clients will not be affected at all.

Generally all clients must match (mfg). Same chipset may be find.
