So I got this mail this morning showing pictures of some dudes RS4 Audi which so eloquently was parked through a wall in someones yard. Turns out, the oke sent his car in for a service and the service tech from Audi took it for a spin... or should I say tried to take it for a spin. Nice. Will post the images a wee bit later (too lazy to go to 3G now).
So, is it the dealerships fault or the techs fault?
EDIT: Picture

Quick rub with a drop of T-cut and you'll never notice [/cobblers]

I'd be fcukin pissed (not that I'd buy an Audi).. I would've loved to hear the customer reaction on the call they gave him. Sure the dealership is responsible but to what extent? And with all these human rights horse shyte I doubt whether the tech will be fired taking into consideration the current state of affairs in this country. Heck, he might even get a promotion!
It's clearly the owners fault. Had he took it in for a service while the brakes still worked it wouldn't have went through the wall.[/advice from Shotgun, Dribble & B@stard]

Not sure what it's like in SA but I don't see any trade plates on the car. Here in the UK they would need the trade plates for this to be covered on the liability insurance of the garage. Most garages go for 3rd party only cover to keep costs down. It might yet be easier for the garage to say the tech stole it or took it without consent and shun the liability. It would then be a claim by the poor car owner.
I think the US, if the car owner decided to persue civil proceedings, it would be against whoever the car owner originally entrusted service to, as; the owner has a reasonable expectation to receive his property in the same condition in which he entrusted (not withstanding repairs, of coure). If the service center used a third party to enact repairs, then the service center has the option to recoup costs from that third party, It is not the car onwner's responsibility to determine the ultimate liability.

Well, it'd be the only time your back seat saw any sort of activity, wouldn't it? [/uncalled for]
