I just built a new system and wondering if anyone can help me out with a small solution. Currently my new motherboard is:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135026

and my new video card is a BFG 7600GT:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143049

I don't plan on using SLI at all, so the problem is that the motherboard will...I assume use only half of the video card ability as it supports on 8x for PCI-E? If this is the case, whatever the memory clock or speed of my new video card will be drastically decreased. I was wondering if there was a way to actually try and get the most out of the video card instead of buying another motherboard to solve the issue. I am currently overclocking as the best option so far to get the most out of the half clock speeds that is showing up on Rivatuner. I have also tried increasing the PCI-E Frequency in the Bios but nothing happens or shows up as a change in clock speeds in Rivatuner.

If you really are worried about the 7600 saturate the pcie bandwidth, then you really need a life.

if you really want faster video, just gat another video card. the motherboard will be fast enough.
