I've got an old computer that I would like to take the memory and processor
out of and put into the one I'm currently on. The other computer has Windows
98 on it and I am affraid if I put it into this computer that it will change
it to 98 and I don't want that to happen. If I were to put that memory in
this one would that happen? (change my Windows 2000 to 98). The other
computer has a Intel 75MHz Pentium Processor, and this one has a different
one from the other, could I also put that processor into this one without
messing this one up?

No, that can't happen. Get in touch with the mobo manufacturer on the
hardware compatibility issue.

You need to do some reading. Until you do-leave it alone.

Here's what will happen:
When you first start up the computer after the parts transplant it'll
recognize the hardware change and begin a process of democratic negotiation.
The new processor will announce "I'm a Windows 98 processor and cast my vote
for Windows 98." The memory will announce "I'm Windows 98 memory and cast
my vote for windows 98." The hard drive, being bigger both physically and
logically, gets two votes and naturally will announce "I'm a Windows 2000
hard drive and I cast my two votes for Windows 2000." In order to break the
stalemate, a compromise will be reached and you'll wind up with neither a
Windows 98 computer nor a Windows 2000 one. Instead you'll have a Windows 99
computer.
