Hi,
I have a question on raid 5 recovery. In case a disk fails does this particular disk need to be replaced with an exact same type of disk or does any disk work as long as the capacity is equal or bigger than the failed one.

Thanks
ds

It is always recommended to use the same mfg, model and size with the same firmware. With that said, in most cases = to or > will work. What you run in to is timing between the drives may be different. Most mfg have a utility to adjust drive size.

Some raids tie the capacity to the first drive, can create problems
