you could try going into your bios and into the memory settings section, then setting it to 6400 manually (which is DDR2 800 i think?). asus likes to set my ddr 400s as 333 when it's set to "auto" in the bios

if it's an asus deluxe, no matter what model #, it should have a customizable bios O_O

it's tricky to find for the first time, and i can only speak for my asus mobo that uses a bios made by "award" but my memory settings for me are hidden inside "cpu configuration" then -> "dram settings"

i think.

i build it myself and bought the parts from different vendors... and i have overclocked the fsp 30% using asus ai overclock, so that might in some way interfeer with the rams?

:| don't use asus ai or any "auto overclock" features if you really want to overclock seriously. my experience is that they are ineffective compared to doing a little homework and o/cing manually through bios. just read up on how to overclock first, there are plenty of resources out there

p.s. a simple google image search of "asus p5w bios" turned up this pic

there's your section for DRAM frequency.
