I have an ASUS P-5w Deluxe, E6600, 2 Gig Super Talent DDR2-800, XFX Geforce 6800 SLI card, 2 "Writemaster" TSST Corp CD?DVDW SH-S162L IDE burners.
I read a thread awhile ago that it could be a board issue....????
My problem is with the DVD burners.
Doesn't seem to be any newer drivers for them.
Anything I try to burn maxes out at 2x TOPS! If I run the 2 drives (burning with one and burning or listening/watching something with the other it goes to 1x! and performance goes right in the crapper, jittery audio and video etc.
I looked in the device manger to see if it was set up as SCSI instead of IDE but I didn't see either type listed under any of the tabs...
This is my first build and everything else looks/performs ok. Any suggestions will have to be broken down for me as I am a newb to computer tweaking.
go the dvds manufacturer website and see if there is a firmware update for your drive . other than that it could be a software issue but you may have to buy a different drive - i would suggest lite-on retail - it comes with nero which is a very nice burning software.
