No date set in stone, it says 'Q2' so anytime between April and June.

I was just wondering what the difference is between:

INTEL PENTIUM 4 Processor 915 LGA775 2.8Ghz DUAL CORE Enhanced SpeedStep® Technology (EIST) $169

and

INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6700 2.67Ghz 4m CACHE 1066FSB LGA 775 $759

I am from Australia and the prices quoted are Australia. But still, why is this 2.67Ghz dual core so much more expensive than this 2.8Ghz dual core?

Cool, a fellow Aussie. :D

In a nutshell, C2D E6700 is much more efficient than the P4 915 clock for clock. You cannot compare processors on clockspeed alone. C2D does about twice the amount of work per clock as a P4.

So the E6700 should be about twice as fast as the P4.

You can see how they compare on different applications/benchmarks by using the THG CPU charts:

Yeah, the E6700 will kick the living crap out of a P4, its like comparing an F-22 Raptor to an A-10 Thunderbolt.
