Hi, I'm thinking of using a 256Mb XFX 7300GS Turbocache Memory 530MHz GPU 550Mhz in my new build....mobo ASUS P5B-E. The system is not a gaming rig...just home entertainment.
Is this a reliable graphics card?
Any recommendations of others in the same price range (sub-$100) would be much appreciated.
regards
Colin

For a home entertainment system I would use the Ati cards, for their better video playback quality.

Have a look at these, both are the newer XT's with 12 Pixel Pipelines.

i agree, ATI has much better video playback, and also better support for TVs etc

I agree, go with ATI because of the better image quality. However, don't bother with the 512MB version, you won't see any performance gain and the extra price isn't worth it.

if your gonna do all entertainment go cheap ati, but for the 100 buck range the 7300 is probably your best bet.

Hell no. The only 7300 worth a bag of beans is the 7300 GT GDDR3.

The 7300 GS is real crud. The X1300 XT isn't even bad for gaming, and will waste a 7300 GS.

Under $100 new, last time I checked the best deals were the X1650 PRO and 7600 GS.

A big thanks to everyone that's responded to my post. These are just the sort of comments I'm after....saves me making an elementary mistake.
Cheers
