I'm really into computers and the main game I always play in Battlefield 2. My current computer works ok with BF2, but I think it time to say goodbye to AGP 8x and move on to PCI-E. I have done research on what I am looking for I just like to have other people opinions on it. Here is a link to my cart at new egg.

Video Card is out of stock, but this is the one I was thinking of

GeForce 7950GX2 1GB 512-bit (256-bit x2) GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Xtreme HDCP Video Card

Please any feed back would be appreciated

Yeah, definitely go for the 8800 series. You can find the GTS for a little over $400, and the GTX for about $550 - which is about the same price as the 7950 GX2. This way, you'll get the DX10 compatibility, the additional INDEPENDANT pipes, and just better performance all-around.

p.s. love to help you out some more, but the link you gave just sends everyone to an empty cart. Please list your components for more advice.

Whoa, whoa - ok, first, the CPU. If you are going to spend ~$500, you should seriously look at the Intel E6700:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115002

It is clocked at 2.66 GHz, but it can be overclocked to 4.0 or 4.2 with a really good CPU cooler like the Scythe Infinity 5, or it can be overclocked with the stock fan to 3.0 GHz. Also, the stock E6700 beats out the stock AMD processor on the CPU charts.

Second, you're going to need a MUCH better MOBO if you plan on running high-end graphics. The chipset in the mobo you linked to is WAY too out-dated. If you want to still go with AMD, try this MOBO:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813127236

or this one (slightly more expensive, but has better features):

If you wanna go with the Intel CPU, which I would recommend, try one of these motherboards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131070

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131142

Both are very good boards, and both should overclock easily. Also, if you plan on going SLI anytime in the future, you might want to go with a different board - on with the 680i chipset which has full-blown TRUE dual 16x PCI-express slots.

Your choice of memory will work great with either of the setups - it's really just a matter of preference!

**also, if you are going to get the 8800 series cards, make sure you get a good power supply unit as well - i forget the specs you need - maybe someone else can provide those

TY CompGuy for the reply. Everything I have always read said AMD was the way to go for Gamers. Intel was getting better for games, but all bench test showed AMD was better. Guessing it is a matter of preference. For the power supply I was looking at stuff about the 650w to 750w range. I'm thinking that should be good. Ya think?. For SLI im not planning on that yet, but u never no in the future. That 8800 GTX should be more then enough to play BF2 and future games to come. IF you have a gaming rig in mind I would like to see it if u feel like posting. Last time I built a PC was like 6 yrs ago and just did little upgrades to it so it would work. IM guessing if I go strong on this one it should last another 6

Here is the gaming rig I am going to be building:

CPU: Intel E6600 (OC'd to 3.2-3.6GHx) - $300
CPU Fan - Scythe Infinity - $60
MOBO: Asus P5N-E (nforce 650i SLI) - $140
GPU: Nvidia 8800 GTX - $550-600
Mem: Corsair XMS2 Dominator 2GB 800 - $300
PSU: Rosewill 600W - $70
Case: Undecided
Total = $1500

This should get me through most any game perfectly! I picked the Nforce 6 series mobos because they overclock the easiest, and I don't think I am going to go SLI for a while (or I would buy the 680i).

Its not really a matter of preference, the Core 2 Duos are faster then anything AMD right now. An E6700 will smoke an FX-62 in everything, hell, even the E6600 will beat it.

This is my psu, more then enough power for an 8800gtx, great quality too.

@compguy: your choice of psu frightens me. 8O

HAHA! Yeah, the decision on my PSU was based on price, mostly. And, I have never had a bad experience with one yet ....

But, if anyone knows of a good, reliable power supply around 600W for about $70, let me know!
