I videotape, (8mm, DV, handicam, firewired) auto races. Generally a one hour per-day thing, if it is a three day race, 3 hours. Do this about 14 times a year. At least 5 people need a DVD copy. over one hundred discs.
1)
Wish to identify the best Notebook to transfer the one hour of DV to, then burn to DVDRW, I suppose making an image on a disc.
If possible, my plan is to integrate the credits, intro, intermission, interviews, pre-show, onto the notebook, and mesh it with the live content after or interspersed with the race itself (lots of waiting between the few races I tape).
I do not care about:
Weight
Klunkiness
Screen Size (unless you state otherwise)
Price matters, but might stretch for powerful mobile system solution
I THINK that:
video card
Processor speed
RAM
is the main essentials- but what types of these?
PS: at a glance the VAIOs look okay, but I need POWER to run Studio 10 video editor. IF the notebook can do this, it is more forgivable to blow so much money on it (compared to a simple DVD burner in a cheap laptop)
2)
Wish to identify a good duplication tower, that the above disc can be put into, then will have 5 (or more) finished, permanent DVD discs. I know little about DVD, but want:
RELIABLE and
GOOD VIDEO, and
MAXIMUM likelihood of everyone's machine playing the discs.
3) I would like to know which of the Disc Label Printers are colorful, but not a total ripoff for ink or tape?
4) Some say to wait for quad core if I really want a powerful laptop for editing fast. Your thoughts?
