Alright i am about to build a new comp and here is what i plan to get so far.

case----cooler master
psu----Thermaltake
mobo----asus p5b deluxe
cpu----C2D e6400
ram----Geil pc2-6400 2 x 1gb cas 4
card----HIS x1950xt
monitor----hanns G 19"
hd---some moderately cheap 250gb

I'm not sure about the psu, ram, monitor, and my mobos chipset. I do plan on overclocking on stock cooling. This ram is just the cheap stuff for now, but still good, I might go with better ram and only 1 gb. what are the good HDD makers? Seagate, WD? what about a better psu? I dont know if i need much more upgrades on this comp for a long time so ill stick with psu that fits its needs. any suggestions?

The psu is a bit weak, i would get one of These instead. If that one is too expensive This one is pretty good as well. The ram is fine, but im not sure how fast you'll be about to push it, im guessing it'll hit the wall at around 950mhz. As far as the HDD goes, i would get this one, cheapest 250gb sata drive on the 'egg right now.

but i plan on getting a dx10 later, like in a year or so.
so i thought maybe a cheaper card to hold me off until then would be nice.
i guess it all depends on money atm.

If you care about rebates, buy your monitor from here. I bought a VERY similar model (HC194D) from them about a month ago, and it's a pretty decent monitor. Haven't gotten my rebate yet, but it hasn't been that long.

should I go for the wide screen 19" hanns-g? I have never used a wide screen monitor and I think it might be neat. It would cost me about $80 more because of the mail in rebate of the non wide screen version.
Any one here think wide screen is worth it?
