I have a new laptop that I bought just 6 months ago and I have a problem with it overheating. If I'm, say running multiple, basic video editing programs at once or have a game running, I can feel the back getting extremely hot and if I don't unplug my laptop, it'll just shut off on me which is not only annoying but, I can't always be with it when I'm running processes that'll take hours. Any advice on how to fix this?

I dunno if this helps but, I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 2
I have an HP Pavilion 7950
AMD Turion 64 ML37
1 gb Ram
ATI Radeon XPRESS 200m

And by Basic tasks, I mean like adding subtitles to video files, converting between file extensions, etc.

check to see if the fans are running properly. make sure u use it on a flat surface. theres probably some dust built up in there go get it cleaned out or get a can of compressed air and shoot out some of the dust.
