When I see articles like this, it bug me to no end:
http://apnews.myway.com//article/2 [...] V8V80.html

I don't understand why Microsoft does not recognize PocketPCs as Media
Devices...not for MSN Music, not for this new way to watch TV on a portable
device. (The *do* include SmartPhones????) I will NOT pay more money for
another device that will play the occassional music/video file...I bought my
Dell Axim X30h to handle ALL of this sort of stuff.

Microsoft...please start including PocketPCs with all of this media
stuff....PLEASE.

It's all over for Pocket PC, the Sony PSP is going to be THE Game/Media
Device.
Microsoft have dropped the ball big style.

Assuming thats all you do with your pocketpc. can you do spreadsheets,
check e-mail, track birthdays, to-do list, balance your checkbook, etc... on
your sony PSP. also, while I agree that the Sony looks like a great gaming
device with huge potential, I also wonder if given the fact that Sony has
again chosen to use their own propriatary storage devices (disk and memory
stick) is it doomed to same fate as som many other great sony ideas
(betamax, memory stick)

Haha good one, can I play my WMVs and WMAs on the PSP can I play the music I
download from Napster or MSN Music on my PSP, can I write custom software
for my PSP, can I use my memory card on my PSP, do I need to install Sony's
own dodgy software to use the thing at all, can I use the PSP as a mobile
phone and send SMS etc from it, can I use it with wi-fi spots?

Oh dear.... Can I play games on it - sure £40 games (that are available
much cheaper on the PS2 - if I ever wanted to play those games). Or I can
just stick with the mass of freeware and cheap games available for Pocket
PC, and not have to worry about having to carry the discs around with me.

PSP does everything PPC does, ten times better!
The days of the PDA are over
Spreadsheets on the move, get a Laptop!!!

Well it has Wifi and a USB socket (How may PPC have a USB Socket!) and a Web
Browser and PIm Software to come

Oh, it's all good - don't get me wrong, I think they're
really neat - not going to get one myself, as I just
purchased an X50v, but they're cool.

IMHO - the PSP will have it's place, and the PPC will
have it's place too! (can't we all just get along? ;-p)

However, I just don't see Joe Businessman pulling his PSP
out in the boardroom to take the meeting minutes, or
record it. Could just be me.

A web browser where? Oh the hack in some game? So you have to buy a game
to get a barely working browser and then have to hack it.

No touch screen on keyboard, have fun entering information.

A USB socket? Wow how cheap Pocket PCs have these things called cradles you
sit them in there, they charge up sync etc and its a nice place to keep them
and keep things tidy/

It will work fine as long as your PPC has WMP10. Same situation with the
Smartphone, it'll need WMP10 too.

LOL!! Well then sign me up. Oh wait, I can't get wikki on the PSP? Well,
heck, never mind then. How am I going to keep orthogonal conversations
honest without wikki?

<broken record>
Of course, to really take advantage of what WMP10 (and other players) can do
on a PPC it would be nice to have a mass storage device...
</broken record>

No the PSP won't outplay the Pocket PC's - it easily blows away any
Portable Media Center microsoft has come out with so far, even with the
lack of space on the Memory Sticks sony has. The screen is just 1000
times better than anything a Portable Media Center Version 1 device has
to offer at a much cheaper price too.

Web Browser is being added with the next update that is on the way for
the PSP in May. Attachable keyboards are due out later in April.

They are completely difference devices, but Microsoft need to rethink
their Portable Media Centers right now.

I think hard drives aren't too far away now, there are a few mobile phones
with HDDs out now, or very soon.

And if you haven't upgrade your X30h to the latest ROM revision with MP10,
do so and take advantage of this. Do readup on it though from folks who have
tried it on a PPC and had some less than favorable comments.

Don't forget the "minidisk", and it goes back further..sony has forever
trying to hook people on their "crack"/memory devices. You get it from them
or nonone.....
