Equipment:
Shuttle ST20G5 w/ FT20 Mainboard
160 GB Seagte SATA Drive
Samsung CDRW (EIDE)

I have fdisked the drive using both a bootable diskette and the software
that came with the HD. Also, I have formatted the drive. However, when I try
to install Windows 2000 I get the message that setup must terminate bcause it
can't recognise any drives installed on the system. I can boot to a C:\
prompt just fine. What gives?

Thank you, in advance, for your assistance!

It's probable that the Win2K installation CD doesn't include the
drivers for your PC's specific model of SATA controller. You'll need to
get them from the controller's/motherboard's manufacturer. Very early in
the boot process, just after having booted from the Win2K CD, the screen
will display the words to the effect: "Setup is examining your system."
Press <F6> when this happens, and have the Win2K-specific drivers for
your SATA controller available on a floppy disk.

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply! I will try what you suggest, and post the results (or
lack thereof...) back here.
