You know those highlands you scots are always on about? Might be a good time to head that way......

I have blood all over my chin as I'm biting my tongue so hard right now. Even a Manc gets a little respect every now and then.
I'm out in the relative sticks of scotland, he'll never track me down.
It took a little google but I found the original article:
1 Killed After Alleged Drunk Driver Plows Into Bike Race
Hope you're enjoying that shot in the same way as the family of the late Alejandro Alvarez, 37, of Monterrey. The crash happened on 3rd June this year when a drunk driver pulled out into the race, despite the lanes being closed off.
If you are getting your rocks off at the money shot of him getting killed then why not take a look at the memorial page his friends set up for him, respectance.com
There is a little link on that page to the extra photos:
You might also note from that memorial piece the four others that were in critical condition following the crash, plus the 10 other seriously, but not critically injured folks involved.
You wouldn't be as hard to find as you imagine.
AV, that's a bit of an eye opener. I'd assumed that pic was a photo-chop.
It was an amature photo by one of the organisers, hence the low quality that does give it a bit of a chop job look. All very real unfortunately, the shots of the front of the car give you an indication of the force of impact:
Just think about that shot for a moment, it's human flesh and blood that made those dents, the bikes would fold very quickly.
Hell, i was going to post something else but hey, i might as well dig deep for that tiny atomic piece of compassion i have and just leave it at that.
Oh and remember kids, drink and drugs are bad.
I'll be sure to pass on that compassionate apology to Mrs Alvarez. I have no issue with Darwin contenders on bikes getting the full treatment, but that was a tragedy by any stretch, they were amature riders just having some fun.
Oh.. and I think I've worked out why you have such a downer on cyclists... I've found exclusive footage of strangest showing his love to the cyclists at the tour de france.
no!!!!!!! i thought i burned all the tapes, how could you expose me like that.
In reality i was just trying to distract them so they would fall down a mountainside, moohahah.
If you had any decency you would delete your OP. . .[/wishful thinking]
Decency, a jock?
Please, we are an inbred barbaric breed no better than neandertals don't you know.
Never delete your OP. If you feel the need, apologise for it. Deleting it just makes the thread confusing for those late to it.
Delete a post? In the 'Other'?? On the basis of decency??? Or taste???? The ramifications of deleting a post from the other on the basis of decency or taste....I shudder to think. I for one am not prepared to endure the consequences of what could only be described as a globally unprecidented action.

I deleted one a few years back. I took with a pinch of salt igotaknife's post about the WTC being hit by an aeroplane. I then turned on the TV to see the second tower get hit. I regret deleting it though, but my reaction, I feel, was justified.

Only post I can recall deleting was one which offended wingy, if he is offended you know it's bad.
You offended Wingy???? Holy crap!
EDIT - late addition:
I hate to be an arse, but I'll say what's on my mind. I gotta agree with the OP on this one. Had I seen this pic, it prolly would have reminded me of the chimpenis. I wouldn't have posted it, maybe sent it to him through e-mail, but I don't think this is the worst we've seen down here.
That said, it was a tragedy, the picture is wrong, but sometimes you just laugh at something before you realize how bad it is...
Fair comment, but Chimpenis has made his, not unreasonable, feelings clear. I find the term 'as funny as c0ck cancer' amusing. I would consider refraining from its use had some poor cnut just lost the old boy though.

I agree, and his feelings are justified, which is why I would have ran it past him first...
Speaking of c0ck cancer, in high school, we always joked around how each other would die. Jason's way to go was always arse cancer, as he always had the worst gas.
When he told me a few years back that he had cancer, and I asked him what kind it was, he told me colon cancer.
We couldn't stop laughing about it for a good 10 or 15 minutes...
He's all good now, thankfully!
I don't really care how I go, so long as it's nothing stupid like slipping in the shower and cracking my head on a tap. That would really piss me off. That brief second as I fell, knowing just how many times the phrase 'stupid twat slipped in the shower' was going to be repeated would too much to bear. I'd be welcoming the the inevitable impact.

Glad to see it evoked some debate if nothing else. The way I see it you choose to be offended by something, it takes a lot to offend me but I did consider it bad taste, especially as I recognised the picture straight off and had commented on how I didn't like the method of having a dig at me.
I have to say that part of my motivation was seeing how people reacted. People jumped on the whole offending Tom thread the other day, I'd say that was in far worse taste than this effort, but none the less it was the reason I posted the death rates, to show that whilst it may be amusing to some there are more people killed in the UK on bikes every year than happened at that tragic match.
I hope I made some people think, I've certainly been doing some thinking on the whole issue of what is and what is not fair game. I'm happy that my response made my point whilst not developing into a slanging match. At the end of the day people come here to let off steam, I know I post some reasonably bad taste material so it would be hypocritical of me to pass judgement on other folks.
That having been said you can expect some fcuking brutal treatment of the Scott over the coming weeks.
Who's scott?
Only kidding, i like it rough, give it too me hard.
I hope you slip in the shower.
Would that be picking up the soap you dropped?
Like you need an excuse...
*Bends over*
I am sure i dropped some change.

Ditto.
Having been involved in one near fatal cycling accident and one near miss (car driving on the wrong side of the road) this sort of thing is maybe a bit too personal for me to say anything substantive other than half-hearted jabs at SS's lack of decency-- which, went over like a lead ballon, it seems. Fail.

Wow. You're a jackass.
Where's llama? [/no reason]
Away getting buggered by wingy.
Bollocks, lets get some fcuking perspective on this. I'm betting I've encountered more fcuknig inconsiderate cnuts on bikes coming at me on the wrong side of the road, without lights too, than any cyclist has met a car driver coming the other way.
Ask about, You'll find more car driver scared that they could have killed some cnut than cyclists with tales of how they were nearly killed.
I have no stats, just personal experience.
If they're riding one of those gay sit-down bikes I believe we, as a whole, have a moral responsibility to run them over. Even if it means following them into their driveways.
Don't be stupid. Those people are just the right hight to filter out my cars fumes so when I get out of my lovely air conditioned car, the air is nice and fresh. Every car should tow one.
Ok, lets put some perspective on this one. Find me ANY stats to show a motorist killed by a push bike. Find me any cyclist who does more than 20 miles a week that does not bitch about cars cutting them up by overtaking and then turning left infront of them. I have said on several occasions that I do not support wankers with no lights (why I'm doubled up on lights front and rear).
Not all drivers are eaqual but MOST are very impatiant. If you life really is timmed to the last 30 seconds (about how long it takes to let me clear the junction instead of cutting me up) then you really do have my sympathy...
At the risk of being a pain in the arse, cars turning left do technically have the right of way.
I'm not claiming that cyclists kill motorists. I'm saying that you are far more likely to see a cyclist travelling down the road in the wrong direction than you are a motorist. I know most cyclists are sensible, but I'm including hoodies on bikes too. There are more hoodies on bikes that don't obey even the most basic of safety precautions than there are motorists that drive as badly as they ride. Again I don't have any stats, You could always try looking out of your window and doing a quick count.
I'm sorry AV, but hoodies on bikes are your mob not mine.
I'm as patient with cyclists as I am with motorists, I have no time for idiots regardless of their mode of transport. If you're in my way and shouldn't be, I'm going to have a word with you and let you know how I feel.
WingDing wrote : At the risk of being a pain in the arse, cars turning left do technically have the right of way.
I think you misunderstand what the point I'm making Wingy. The situation is that I am riding down a road, up ahead there is a road on the left, the car overtakes me and then imediately turns left infront of me. They do not have right of way in this situation. Forget that it is a bike, imagine you driving along and somebody overtakes to then immediately turn left across your direction of travel.
Tom_Smart wrote : I'm sorry AV, but hoodies on bikes are your mob not mine.
+5 being as insulting as Strangest.
You can fcuk right off with that statement Mr Smart. Hoodies on bikes are just scum with wheels.
Don't forget the buses doing the same with bus stops, evil extremely large bastards.
There's a difference between a person riding a bicycle and a cyclist.
I was just thinking along the same lines. Also as Tom is our resident master criminal I would have through the hoodies would be far more his crew than mine.
VBDude wrote : Wow. You're a jackass.
I've been at college for 3 weeks (got some professional exams next week). I'm now back to irritate everyone as usual.
Hoodie or not, if you're on a bike you're clearly a peasant. Again, you're mob not mine.
That's ok Tom, on that logic I'm grouping you with the disable buggy / tractor drivers.
Tractor drivers? Fcuking farmers? That's just too low, fcuk that hurts.
Lets look at the evidence:
1. Does not work
2. Drinks beer all day
Sounds like an RC-itus candidate to me...
