Have just applied updates to 12 x Win 2000 SP4 machines and now it takes 15
minutes on every machine to 'preparing network connections' before login
screen is shown.

The updates included the Roll Up for SP4

Any ideas?

thanks

If its a slowstart up problem, you could check your fragmentation
levels. You must defragment the HD everytime huge files are added or
deleted. In fact with the number of MS updates, patches, hotfixes etc
tht we download into the system nowadays, the drive tends to get
fragmented at a rapid rate.
