Hi guys

Just wondering if anybody has heard anything bad about the XFX GTX 8800 xxx edition at all. I currently have an MSI 8800 gtx on order however its going to take a week to get it in from my supplier. I noticed the XFX cards and wondered how they compared to MSI and if the XFX xxx would be more bang for your buck. Any suggestions?

Whichever card is cheaper. That card is so fast for 9c games you'll never see a difference. A year from now you might measure a couple fps faster but whats the point.

I'll ask why you'd buy a 8800 anything when it's already January.

The price is surely higher on the XXX edition as it always is. No factory overclocked version of the already powerful 8800GTX is worth paying any more for. Keep the MSI and game away!

It's a small MHz difference anyway. Just get your MSI, and enjoy.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the reply. Believe it or not but the XFX 8800 GTX XXX is slightly cheaper in Australia over the MSI 8800GTX and they are both about a week away from being in stock. I think I will go the XFX. I just had never really heard of that brand and wanted to know if they were ok.

XFX is a good brand, does not have the lifetime warranty eVGA offers, but is a very reputable brand.

They say on thier website that it has a double lifetime warranty on it. It does not however go into any further detail other than that. Whats the possibility an over clocked version of the GTX will fail sooner? Does Nivida support the over clocking?

Chance is impossible to calculate, technically it would be more likely to fail, but in reality, its just down to luck and how its used/handled. Put it this way, the fact that it might be more likely to fail shouldnt be a factor in your decision
