I've just installed a second hard drive on my machine and noticed that
the new HD is listed as E: Dive and the CD Rom is still listed as D:
Drive.

Is there some way that I can have D: as my second drive and E: as the
CD Rom?

Right click "My Computer" manage........Click disk management.

Right click D drive...."change drive letter & path"...Remove.

Do the same for the E..........

Go back to the drive the same way and choose D, go to CDRom do the same
& make E........

Disk Management is the applet designed to do this.

Go to Start/Help, type in
disk management
and click on "Using Disk Management."

To swap "D" and "E" you will have to
- rename "D" as "F" or any letter but "E"
- rename "E" as "D"
- rename "F" as "E"

You may want to consider creating more than one partition (volume, or
named space) on that new hard disk. In that case, perhaps your CD drive
should be a letter higher than E. (Letters do not have to be used in
sequence; you can have C, D, E, F, L, Z.)
