 So everyones gotta make a buck but come on. I froogled e4300 (like Im sure others have as well) and came up with prices of $185 to over $200. Not only that but many of the sites are listing an in stock date of February 8th :( . ( Mind you one site is listing January 19th :) )
:? AMD might not have to get its panties into too big a knot yet...

It's around $250 including tax in Canada... but I'll get some practice with this CPU so thats good. I hear it's made to be overclocked. :D

I've seen al lot of this type of 'stuff' posted of late. Strikes me that the e-tailers, in the rush to list, are pricing way over the tray price just to attract attention. Order early? LTBB... (Caveat emptor)

My 2p.

The prices that everyone seems to have seen and decided are right are the Q2 prices. I can't remember exactly what all the E6xxx series will drop to but I know the E6600 will be $220 (Yay!). I know that HKEPC had an article on the price drops upcoming, I'll see if I can find it again.

Most of the prices are going down more or least 40% in the Q2 for the Conroes :D. The price of the E4300 will probably come down in a week or so, when the hype eases down or when the stores and e-tailers actually have them in stock.

Yeah, the 805 was a cheap processor, but, I would not call it an AMD killer.... other than the price. The E4300 is a different animal. The 805 could clock up pretty darn high, and the performance was good, for a precott. The 4300 can clock higher than a 6800, on AIR, and smoke any AMD chip overclocked to max. But, that's just my opinion.
