Microsft Security Essentials

Last response: in Opinions and Experiences

Anyone have experience good or bad with Microsoft's Security Essentials. I am looking to get a anti-virus program and I see one is already provided free of charge by Microsoft.

Is it slow the computer down? I know a rhetorical question, :pt1cable:

Works well for me.

I've been reading a lot of good things about MSE lately. I'm seriously considering dropping Avia Free and switching to MSE; it's supposedly faster and uses less memory than Avira or AVG. Go for it and let me know how it works out for you :) .

I have used Norton 360, Avira, Avast, and Microsoft security essentials. I think Malwarebytes has the best malware scanner, but I think MSE has as good real time protections as any other AVs.
