Just put together a new computer.

I am running xp pro 64 for now (free for 120 days from microsoft web site) and will put vista on when it comes out.

I found drivers for everything except my printer.

I have an HP Deskjet 9300. I need a 11 x 17 printer so it will be at least $300 if I can't find drivers for this one (paid $400 4 years ago for it).

I tried the drivers on the hp web sit. The first problem is that they are self installing and windows keeps telling me to use the "add a printer" function to install it. The second problem is when I do that, windows says none of the files contain information on my printer.

Is there drivers out there?????

Thanks ... Mike

I did a quick Google and nothing came up that looked like a Vista or wxp64 driver for your printer. I suppose your best bet is to wait and hope that HP eventually release drivers for your printer.
If this doesnt happen, I suppose you could try using some sort of virtual PC program like VMWare, emulating XP, to run your printer. If this worked, it might not be the most convenient solution but at least it would save you having to spend $300 on a new printer.
