Help needed. Both my P3 Mbds died. And I am trying to move my old IDE
drives over to a new Motherboard. I want to be able to use all the existing
programs.
But I can't get the HD to boot fully into W2k. I tried the repair/update
W2k from my CD, but all I get now is this error
*** STOP: 0x0000001E (0xParameter_1, 0xParameter_2, 0xParameter_3,
0xParameter_4)
KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

Info addition The exact error that I get includes the parameters
Stop: 0x0000001E (0xc0000005, 0xEB4617B6, 0x00000000, ox00000028)
XMODE_Exception_Not Handled

Well sorry fot the typo's.
The error is "Kmode..." Not XMode...
And I have made some progress but not there yet. I replaced the CD-RW drive
with a straight 52X Cd drive, and took out the DVD-RW drive. Now after doing
the setup ... repair again... I can get to a setup sequence on the HD.
It goes part way thru the "initializing devices" screen then the screen goes
blank, a floppy access is attempted 5-6 times. then nothing more.. ???
ideas ???
Will try doing repair again and see if it gets any better. Any ideas what
is going on with this???
