I am trying to make a network between my computer and my laptop. As far as the physical wifi connection goes, I have succeeded in that. But I can't make network for some reason. I did everything I could...on both computers I did the 'set up home or office network' and made sure both computers had the same work group name called 'wireless'. But when I reboot both computers I cannot make the network work. Under view workgroup computers i have only one computer showing for each computer(itself). Can anyone help? Here's my info:

Main computer:

Windows XP professional v 2002 sp2
Main computer IP: 192.168.0.1
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: blank
DNS server address is set to auto.

Laptop:

Windows XP pro sp2
IP: 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS server addresses here are set for internet shareing
Main DNS server is set to 209.163.129.19
ALT DNS Sever is 209.163.129.25

I also want do remote computer connection but I can't because when I hit browse and search through wireless it saids that 'this network does not contain any terminal servers'.

Help!

Thanks,
-Darin

Looking at the IP address your pc and Gateway have the same IP. The gateway IP is reserved. Connect both computers into the LAN ports. Change the router back to DHCP. DNS to AUTO.

In Pro Un-check simple file sharing. Reboot.
