Dell PowerEdge 2600 system has 4 disks configured in hardware RAID 5.
Windows 2000 installed sees one (virtual) disk (lets say disk 1).
This disk is split into several volumes (system/data/users...).
We want to add 2 more physical disks and configure them in RAID 1 as
new virtual disk 2. The plan is to move the system volume from disk 1
to disk 2. Therefore we thought to do it this way:
1. Mirror system volume on disk 0 to disk 1 (Windows integrated disk
management mirroring)
2. Break the mirror and leave only the copy of the system volume on
disk 2
3. Modify boot.ini to reflect the change
Would this be valid procedure? How can we instruct the system to boot
from system volume on disk 2 after the procedure is over?
