Yes, you can do this with Mobipocket Reader for PC.
You can use the File/Open menu item or the Folder icon in the Library,
then browse the network drives and the folders to find the file you
want to open.

I need it for the Pocket PC... there is no File | Open

Go to "Library" (the icon with the books) and there you find something
like "open file" (I use the German version which says "search for file" ).
