noob crossfire question

this should be a quick one.

I haven't been keeping up on the video cards, and I'm unsure what crossfire can handle as far as cards.

Can I pair an x800 (crossfire edition) and an x850 xt (normal) ?

If so, will there be any performance concerns?

You can but they will run at the 800 speed.

That would be a waste of money if you dont have the cards. If you do then go ahead but if you dont then go for a single X1950XT which outperforms most DX9 card outhere.

Well if you are gonna be satisfied with the results then go ahead, Just dont expect too much. The Crossfire edition o the x800 can be find cheap on eBay. Thats the only place I think.
