This is the skinny. I don't really have a lot of cash to throw around so I'm trying to minimize in the areas I can. I'm not getting the bleeding edge, rather one or two rungs down. 8800 GTS (gotta have DX10,right?)and Core 2 Duo E6600 are the only two things I'm set on. The mobo is a tricky question. I don't need any of the frills that come with a high end motherboard. I'm not getting or going to get an SLI setup so these boards with two or THREE(why? physics? whatever) PCI-E slots or an nvidia chipset are not needed. I do however value a lot of PCI slots, stabilty, and quailty. Have an idea what the right board for me is?

Have you looked at any of the P965 chipset boards? I think these all have 3 PCI slots quickly looking at the offerings from newegg. If that is not enough, I don't know what to tell you. Not many boards have more than 3 PCI slots that support the core 2 duo.

If 3 PCI slots is enough, then check out the P965 mobo reviews from this website. If you want to overclock, the gigabyte and asus boards are good from what I've seen and read.
