Can kiss my arse. Why do people even make cars with only a fcuking elastic band for an engine? I had the unfortunate experience of driving a Toyota Aygo from Halifax to Liverpool and back. Never again, fcuk that, I'd rather walk. I really don't understand the point of those pieces of sh!t. Granted it used about 30% of the fuel the Jag would have, but surely it can't be worth it. Seriously what's the point of having a car that you have to plan an overtaking manoeuvre an hour in advance, just so you can build up the speed. I manager to get the piece of crap up to 80mph going downhill and it nearly fell apart. Going uphill is like putting on the brakes, seriously the thing only just made it over the Pennines. At seven grand, I seriously considered leaving the fcuker in Liverpool and buying another when I got back to Halifax, they are that sh!t. I might still burn the fcuker later, just to make myself feel a bit better.[/rant]
Go Karts is what they are.... [shrug]
I would not call that Aygo trash part of the environment...
on topic: I've heard that the peugot107 is a decent ride (in its class).. however it got the same engine and (under)carriage so what's up with that then?

Can you get your hands on an Aygo in the US? If so, that surely is a sign of changing times...
Not that I know of....
I've designed for the European market before though..... I know how the designs go over there....
Aygo/107/C1... The same turd polished slightly differently.
I'm guessing that this experience does not dispose you positively towards our forum hippie.

Interestingly they got quite different safety scores.
I like my Prius.
That doesn't help GM ... who I do a bit of work with either.
The Big US car manufacturers are really in the poop at present.
If they made a decent cheap hybrid I'd buy one.
I just fail at overtaking ... unless it is a granny with a shopping trolley or a Lada Niva.

"No matter how hard you polish it, its still a turd."
haha!

I'm so happy for you that you like your car. This was about the Aygo though.. different kind of breed. The only similarity I can see, is that the Prius is a turd as well (different turd but still, such a environment friendly car, that every single one of them has to be shipped back to Japan to be demolished, for fck's sake. Not exactly cradle to cradle technology).

The closest we have is the Honda Fit (Jazz) class here in the U.S., but you can now get the Smart here. I'm waiting for the first pics of a Smart involved in a misshap with a Tahoe. Although the pic may prove hard to confirm as the Smart would simply fanish and the Tahoe would like it had hit a deer.
*waits for Turp to post pic*
edit..wtf? The Smart only gets roughly 7mpg more on the highway than my car. Where's the benefit?
If you need fuel economy, get a G-Wiz.
Personally, I wouldn't enter the piece of **** in Robot Wars.
G-spots are bigger...
The Prius looks like a 2-CV that's been squashed. The GWiz has less pull than a roller skate and a poorer NCAP rating probably.
The cost saving from the GWiz come in the area accident cleanups. Simply drop the remains in the nearest trash bin.
At least you can make them look like over priced gas powered hot wheels.

Riding the bus is more dignified than driving a G-Wiz.
Easy to steal. Pick them up and put them in back of a truck.
Why would you want to steal it? Do you steal empty drinks cans from bins?
Recycle it. That's an easy $50 and you're doing someone a favor.
If you fitted an air rifle to the roof of a G-Whizz would it qualify as an ecoterrorist assault vehicle?
Could it possibly be that Tom experienced a slightly larger shock to the system than most. I mean just in terms of HP there has to be a couple of hundred odd difference between the Jag and the Aygo.
My folks ran one for a year, no problems. VERY low cost to run they managed to get to the south coast and back without any drama. Fine, they are not motorway cars but what do you expect. You're taking a GT car and comparing it to a town runner... no comparison. Try the parking in town in a tight space test this afternoon and your opinion might change a bit. Horses for courses as they say.
I haven't always owned a Jag, I've driven some pieces of sh!t in my time. The Aygo is a courtesy car as my Mum's car is in for repair. Her car is a Citroen Multispace, that doesn't have the power of the Jag and drives like a fcuking oil tanker. I can still use it on a motorway though. If I had seven grand for a car I'd buy something second hand that you could actually drive properly. As for parking in a tight space, that's just down to your abilities. I know people who'd have trouble finding a spot in an empty field.
I also have a friend who can take a double decker bus onto a skid pan and 360 it into a space four foot longer than the bus. If it has wheels, he can drive it. He has got just about every licence you can think off. He is the best driver I know.
Good call RobD. Spot on as normal.
I'm currently jamming out to My Last Words off of Rust in Peace.
Is this thread about AV's bicycle? If so, what were you doing on Av's bike Tom and more to the point how did this per chance meeting happen?
If not. Then bollocks.
...*digs out Megadeth albums*...
Speaking of which, did you see that Judas Priest, Megadeth and Testament are touring together? Not sure whether it's gonna hit your side of the pond though (shame if it doesn't), might have to get tickets to that.

I've just been looking at a new bike but I'm not sure I can afford all the extras... [/Alt linky]
Are you going to be the passenger or the peddler?
Neither, just the monkey with the cup to collect the chage from the crowd...
Hmmmmm, my dictionary of British English does not have chage. Is it an American word that somehow resembles a chav?
Nice bike if AV <> hanging on the pole.
CHANGE!
is a Septic manifesto.

BMW is coming out with a Cooper electric.
208 HP, max speed 95mph (meh) and 150 mile range.
FINALLY! An electric car that has some zip to it that wont cost $250K!!!! (Tesla?)
Be a man. Buy a motorcycle. 50+ MPG, faster, and you don't have to give her a ride home afterwards.
Speaking of motorbikes....
A guy goes into hospital for a cateract operation. He is readied for surgery and his surgeon pops in to visit him to explain the delay. The surgeon explains that there is a temporary shortage of donors. When asked how long the wait is likely to be, the surgeon walks over to the window and looks outside. 'Shouldn't be too long now, it's raining' he replies.

That's a comforting story [/7 series driver]
That's a worrying story. [/Cyclist]
Apparently it's a true story. I remember it from Stephen Fry being on Top Gear, his cousin was the surgeon.

Now that's a propper bike!
We have a couple of girls that ride the Critical Mass on old Schwins. Not sure I'd like to hit any hills on it but for the ride back up from the pub that thing would be a blast.
Blast through a window yes. Does driving a bicycle under the influence = drunk driving and thus punishable by law?
Shhhhh...! (yes, technically - although you have to be doing something stupid to get pulled over)
@Voko... of course for getting back from the pub this could be more of a challenge...
Damned double vision...too many M&Ps.....
Four wheels is a step in the right direction.
Except the cyclist should be under the wheels, not over.
What was I thinking of? A step in the right direction? Who the fcuk walks anywhere anyway?
