Does anyone have any thoughts on what I can get out of a e6400 with stock HSF? How about the e6600?

I'd like to try to get to ~ 3.2Ghz with the e6400 and ~3.4Ghz with the e6600. Also, does anyone have any recommendations on a moderate HSF. I know the Tuniq Tower and Scythe Infinity are top of the line, but I think they may be overkill for what I want to accomplish.

i have a e6600 with stock cooling and let me tell you... IT IS CRAP! do not overclock at all! i idle at 40c and at full load around 55c. buy a zalmen or a nice after market cooler, then you can reach your goal. do not bother trying to overclock with stock..

6400 3.2-3.5 GHz
6600 same there
But you will need a good MB to get there. Gigabyte DS3 comes to mind but asus and abit got some solid ones to.
For this kind of "moderate" OC then the AC freezer 7 PRO would be my pick. Low price, great performance for the price and very low noice.
Sure there is better (and more expensive) coolers but then they get much larger and/or produce higher sound.

Loved my AC 64 and now the Freezer 7 Pro (its almost the same cooler just A64 vs s775) do the job.

Thanks Guys. I plan on ordering my CPU on Monday or Tuesday. I'm still undecided on which one I will be getting, as well as which HSF. The Freezer 7 Pro does look pretty reasonable though. I have a P5B Deluxe on order and will be using Super Talent DDR2 800.

Does anyone else have any other comments on this?
