I was wondering if there is a way to delay drive mapping until after my wireless card software intializes. Currently, the operating system hangs on startup because there is no LAN connection in order to map the drive. You need to be present and click OK to proceed loading the operating system. I would like to have the operating system be able to come up unattended.

My wireless card is a Netgear WG311 using the Netgear utility that came with it.

I have mapped drives on my wireless. I get message from windows saying not all drives are available, but continues on. Soon as the wireless is connected everything is available. I'm using MS Zero config to handle my wireless.

There is a utility that I played with from PC magazine called Startup Cop that will do the trick. It had some bugs in the early versions. Have not tried it in over a year.

Thanks for the response. :D

I gather MS Zero Config only works with XP?? I hunted around the MS website and this seemed to be the case though much of the info was cryptic in that MS sort of way. 8O

Thanks for the lead on Startup Cop. I was wondering if some utility could restructure the startup order so that the mapping would come last.

There should be an option to reconnect mapped drives at startup. Unselect this and it wont auto connect.
Right click the mapped drive and look under there for the option.
