I dont post much on the OC section, but I was wondering:

Would a E6400 be less likely to OC as high as a E6600, or is there no difference?

(I know a lot of it is down to luck, but generally?)

Try looking here.

I'd choose the E6600 if you can afford it due to the larger cache.

Thats a lot of frickin numbers!

Seems as though the E6600's are more likely to go higher in case anyone else was wondering!

The E6300/E6400 seem to overclock better than the e6600 etc. Though with the lower multipliers on the first two chips the speed seems to turn out roughly equal unless you go in for water cooling or better.

E.g.
e6400 @ 450 fsb with 8x multiplier = 3.6ghz
e6600 @ 400 fsb with 9x multiplier = 3.6ghz
