I have a problem that is driving me insane. My TV displays five or six
dark bars on the left half of the screen and one wider dark bar on the
right half of the screen. The bars are most noticeable during dark
scenes. The bars come up when using a DVD source.

My equipment:

Philips 30PW850H HDTV
Panasonic DMR-E20 DVD recorder
Monster component cables

Of course, I'm happy to supply more information and I'm grateful for
any help from the community of experts out there.
