I just bought a Hitachi HD LCD 50V500A, and about every 8,000 hours you
have to replace a Bulb in it that runs real hot. You can do it yourself, but
it costs too much, so am looking for a place that sells them Wholesale. It's
a Read Projection, and it's the only bulb in it, but I believe they run
about 2 to 300 to buy, so have to find someplace cheaper then that.
Can Anyone give me any info or links on these TV's ?

If you just bought the TV, then you presumably have about 8,000 hours
left for viewing. That's about 5 hours of TV a day for over 4 years. I'm
sure the price of the bulbs will come down by then and if they don't,
researching the price in a couple years might result in better results.
Have you just tried using Google or Froogle? What about calling Hitachi?

I don't know the Part Number, or what they call it to do a search.

I'm one of these guys that worry's about things, like where to get one fast.

I didn't read about 8,000 hours in the book, but the free replace is only 90
day's, where the rest is for 1 year. The 8,000 I founf through a Search and
don't know what Model or brand it was.

Hitachi part number UX21511 $201.53 dealer cost, list price $221.00. Any
dealer who sells at this list price is nuts, most will have their own
pricing. $300 would be a fair price. As far as lamps go, this is not an
expensive one by any means.

I sure am glad to find this News Group, that was one fast answer there
Leonard, Thanks.

I'm learning a lot already in here, and I live Electronics, but my lifetime
Job was in a Noisy factory.
I assemble my own Computers and then pass on the old one to the wife.

I had the Cable Time Warner HD 8000 Box for a few day's but had it on my 36
inch Tube Toshiba (HD SQUARE TUBE) and the picture was real bad going
through the box on the channels 0 tru 99, so had to bypass it for those and
use the 3 wire output for HD, as it didn't have the Newer DVI input, where
now with the Hitachi 50V500A I have the DVI input.
I would like to use the DVI but don't know if I should go the DirectTV
or not, as TW Cable didn't have anything worth anything unless you paid for
it. I like football and would like to have a good clear picture when that
comes around.

If you had purchased at CC and gotten the performance plan it would have
covered bulb replacements.

Don't feel too bad, my JVC G11 front projector's bulb lasts 1000 hours and
costs almost $750. :-)

WOW, I researched this buying deal from store to store until they didn't
even want to look at me.

I found CC is Circuit City, but there is not a Warranty to be bought from
anyone that covers that bulb, I checked.

Joe, I work PT at Circuit City and we have been told that we do indeed cover
the bulb and will replace it if it burns out.
