Right now I have a 6600GT video card on my computer. Im planning on upgrading all of my computer parts but my video card since I am waiting for the ATI DX10 cards to come out so I can buy the 8800GTS for cheaper.
My question is, with the latest driver downloaded from the nvidia website, can i just take out my 6600GT video card from my computer and replace it with the 8800GTS card? Or do i need to uninstall the drivers and then install the 8800GTS?
G80 drivers are different, i went from a 7900GT to a 8800GTS and yes you have to uninstall the Drivers and install the new G80 ones. BTW the 8800GTS is going give your computer a kick in the pants.....

yes i know they are different thats why you download the new ones.
What are your current specs? If your running an older PC, which I'm assuming since you have a 6600, you might get a CPU bottleneck with a 8800gts and see diminished returns.
Also, what power supply do you have? 400W with +12 Volt rating of 26 Amps is recommended for an 8800gts.
In any respect, you'll see a terrific improvement over your 6600.
