Well, thus far unconfirmed reports point to the attackers demanding release of Mujahideen prisoners and/or the stop of pursuing them. They form part of the Islamism movement which are at the end of the day connected to the greater Islamism sect, al-qaeda just like all the other sects are.

Whatever happens terror wise, there will always be a link to al-qaeda to some degree.

The significance here would be the, unconfirmed yet again, reports of the attackers looking for British and American based people during the attacks.

You got the diverse part spot on, but India has a lot of western support and as such I think the government will go out hard against these attackers. They play an integral role in counter terrorism due to their geographic area next to Pakistan so if all of the above yields true, then it just makes more sense that the attacks were carried out on their soil (sorta like killing three birds with one stone).

They've chosen the wrong country to pull that sh!t in. India isn't as hand-ringingly appeasing as us and other muppet European countries. They'll send the troops in, and fcuk the feelings of the poor persecuted Muslims and their woe is me BS. The Indian government is in the spotlight, and they'll act sharpish.
