activity led keeps blinking

My activity led keeps on blinking once every 2 seconds or so. Im watching my task manager and a 1% cpu usage on explorer.exe comes up and then goes to 0% and comes back and dissapears over and over. This is why my activity led keeps blinking... should i worry about this?

Yep, normal. The regular low-intensity flashing is merely to indicate the discs are spinning, although I am not sure if this is a feature of SATA discs, or of the motherboard , whether PATA or SATA. The flashing is not CPU related. When there is read write activity, then the flashing will become more brilliant and of longer duration, of course.

This freaked me out when I first noticed it happening around 13 yrs ago on my first computer but with antivirus programs and other backround process going on this is completely normal thing.
