Hi petei,
I purchased my E6400 back in August (when they first came out) for $295 Canadian...
Today they are $259 bucks.
Notably, the E6600 has held its original price better. When I bought my 6400 the E6600 was $100 more - today it is $379 Canadian ($120 more).
This low pricing, even less in $USD, brought AMD pricing way way down...
Remember what an AMD X2 CPU used to cost?
Intel pricing may well drop in the spring though... a bit.
Instead, look at the new E4300! When run on a 1066FSB mobo it should produce instant 2.4GHz - just like an E6600 (but without the big 4MB cache).
They will sell a lot of those,
Regards
