A: & D: drives quit working

I am running W2K adv. server, and until yesterday all drives worked fine.
Device mgr. indicates devices are not in conflict with any other devices, the
devices were detected by the system and drivers were installed by system
after i removed devices with the add/remove devices. how can i get these
devices to work again?
