Using XP Pro SP2, with 2 laptops running XP Home SP2.

Trying to get my 2 laptops to share my desktop printer (Epson Stylus CX6600 connected by USB).
After plenty of messing around, managed to get it installed onto one laptop.

Trying to print - the job gets sent to the printer (can view it using desktop) - the size usually shows a bit short, ie, 11.8Kb/12.6KB. The "Owner" of the job always says "Guest" - not sure if that makes a difference. And it never prints.

And so cannot print. I can print fine off the desktop itself, so printer is installed ok. Print spooler is on for both machines and they can ping each other no probs... File & Internet sharing is working fine between the machines.

I can share files and internet no probs.

Also, have tried the following or my setup is already:
- Brand new Installation of Windows (new HD so from afresh)
- No software firewalls/AV, and Windows Firewall is switched off.
- MS Client and File/Print Sharing On
- NetBIOS over TCP/IP Enabled (Static IP)
- Same Workgroup
- Installed all Client/Service/Protocols in TCP/IP.

Erm, not sure what else to try... can someone please help?

Thanks

PS, sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum.

EDIT:
How strange... just got it working after all this time messing around!
I renamed the printer on the desktop (where it was installed) to something shorter, and added it to each of the network machines again. And Viola!

Now onto my next adventures: Finding out whats so rubbish about my router and what a hacked firmware will do for it. Then, start monitoring the bandwith over my network and having a bit more control (spying on my family's usage lol).
