which to buy: x1950pro 512mb or x1950xt 256mb ?

Putting together a new system this month, and I'm down to two competing cards in my narrow price range ($250-ish). I can get a 512mb X1950PRO or a 256mb X1950XT. I'm tempted to get the 512mb card right out of the gate, but I know the 1950XT uses the new RV570 core, which is supposed to be pretty badass. Does that outweigh the memory limit though?

I would get the 1950xt, its gpu is 50mhz faster then the 1950pro, its memory is 420mhz faster, it has a higher fill rate, more memory bandwith, its basicly an underclocked 1950xtx with half the memory and its $150 cheaper. You wont notice a difference between 512mb and 256mb of video memory, but you will notice the speed difference between the 1950xt and 1950pro, big time.
