hahahahahaha

Sorry, had to do that. You should download "coolbits" and do it in the nVidia driver panel.

have fun.

Having fun with an fx5200? Good luck with that! I owned one for around a week a few months after the release, and it was so bad i had to replace it and got myself a nice 9700pro instead :D

Better than 64mb integrated.

Not much better, you'd have been better off saving a bit more (around £30/40 ($50-$70more) and buying a Vanilla 6600 or maybe an x1600pro.

wow! im surprised you got that far stably.

i have a fx5500 passive in an old pc and its suXXXored in oc'ing

the FX series is touted as nvidias worse release. the previous GeForce 4 geenration in many cases was actually faster and had a lot more ocing potential

I thought that considering you're using an fx5200 (AGP exclusive) that if you were looking to upgrade you'd be looking for a new AGP card.

I would of gone with an agp card if i could, but gateway cheaped out, my system is only 4-5 years old and they decided to have room for an agp card, but just decided to not put one in.

So this is all i saw at best buy, and i'm not paying 150 for (i think) a 6200 is the fastest pci card.

An FX5200? What are you trying to run on it? To be quite honest, I've owned one before and they're quite useless even overclocked.

The cards usability would depend on what you need it for.
It can still play worms forts, which most onboard can't.
I've put a fx5700le in my parents pc once, and a fx5200 in my brothers, and the pc attached to the livingroom pc runs a gf4 mx 440 ... they're all rather poor cards compared to my 8800gtx but they all run stuff like worms forts or age of empires 3 just fine .... so they're definetly not useless, altho I have to admit I'd never buy an fx card in this day and age. a 6600 gs perhaps if I needed agp, but not an fx .... anyhow, point is - they are useful for lowerend stuff, or if you can live with inferiour graphics quality.

there are still good reasons for an fx card besides just for agp.

for older mainbolards with agp 2/4x, it would be a serous bottleneck for the card. fx is abt 30-40 bux cheaper too.
