Hey all, I got most of my PC components in the other day, and tonight i decided i'd do a dry install so i could route my water cooling tubes and see how everything looks.

When i finally installed everything, I was shocked, because from the looks of it i spent major money on something that's impossible to put together. Any suggestions at all are appreciated, please help me with this ; ;

main components in pics are:

eVGA 680i mobo
2x geforce 8800 GTX (BFG water cooled edition)
Silverstone PSU
Thermochill 120.3 Radiator.

As you can see in the pics, there are a few problems.

1.) the barb on the bottom 8800 GTX is 1 1/16 inches from the top of the PSU. This makes it impossible (as far as I know) to hook up the tubes to it.

2.) There's also nearly no space to put my Pump (swiftech 655) from all the PSU cables.

If the PSU was at the top i don't think it would be a problem, but it seems more and more cases are putting them at the bottom, not to mention i love the Silverstone TJ-09; and i don't think i could exchange it at this point.

As i said before, i really need some help on this. i just can't believe that there's no solution to this.

Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure not even an elbow joint will fit in there.

And what mobo would you have chosen for watercooled SLI? most 680i boards have the same layout.

As far as I know, water cooling solutions use standard plumbing sizes. If you visit a plumbing supplies outlet I'm sure you'll find something that'll do the job.

Unscrew and remove that one barb and replace it with a 90-degree elbow.

You picked a great motherboard to start with.I own two of them and the overclocking possibilities are endless. You need a 90 deg fitting also.Only one of your photos came up when i just looked so its kinda hard to see your case because your other photo is dark. But you still should have room for your pump.Youcould also go to danger den and find a smaller pump that will still fit the needs of your cooling system. Makesure you download the new bios update for your board.I belive its P23. But I have not had one single with either of my 680i eVGA boards. What are you planing on running for a CPU ? I'm running a X6800 in one machine, and a E6700 in the other. Both perform extreamly well. With aslight OC I have reached over 15,000 on 3DMark6 with two 8800GTS's, and the X6800.With the E6700 & two 7900GTOs i hit 11,048 on 3DMark6.There has to be a way to get around the way it is setup now. I think your best bet would be to return the liquid cooling system you have now and buy a COOLIT Elimator. Its a sealed liquid cooling system, that also has a TEC unitthatone goes for $199,they also have another that runs for $299 and both are blowing away the compitition. Take a look at them and you will see just how easy it is to install. It might take you 10-15mins top,!

IT IS NOT YOUR MOTHERBOARD, it is the layout of your case, if it werent for the poor case layout then you would be able to water cool it with no hassel as for the water blocks, the DD full cover blocks are not very good compared to many other ones, instead of just throwing your money around and being so impulsive you should have checked around and you would have found out that there are better full cover blocks and you would have been able to come away saving almost $100 per card on cooling:

here is a pic of the inside of a Danger Den 8800GTX full cover block(note that the water channel is in the delrin top and not in the actual copper):

and here is a pic of an EK full cover 8800GTX water block with the ability to move the barbs to either side of the block(note that the channel is actually milled into the copper so that you get a lot more surface area over the GPU itself):

here is where you can buy the EK 8800GTX water block and it is cheaper and in stock(great company too):

I wouldn't call my build impulsive, i've been working on if for a little over a month of research. there's just some things you can't forsee. There was no way to tell that this would end up like this just from looking at pictures and reviews off the net.

I have not heard of the EK waterblock, i put my build up a few weeks ago on the forums for last suggestions, and no one mentioned it. You can also switch the barbs to different sides on the DD block, it just won't help me really.

Sruane's suggestion is good, and I'll have go with that, i believe home depot will have a piece like that. Thanks for your help

Ok maybe I'm not seeing things correctly but here goes.

Why don't you switch the bottom cards barbs to both face up?
have the top card with one down and one up

Water hits top card from top barb.. small tube to second/bottom card..out from bottom card to Rad?

I looked on the web at the bfg and it sure looks to me like you can put those barbs on either side.
