Hello i got the this unit and it has two bakup programs "Asus Smartkeeper"
and "Asus Backup". I cant really see the differens between them. The most
important is to do a complete backup so the unit can be as before in case
the battery runns out.

And is the backup using activesync a complete backup aswell, doing the same
thing but store it on my pc??
About activesync, if i do backups automaticly every time the unit goes in
the cradle. Then when i has a complete empty unit and put that in the
cradle, will active sync do a backup of an "empty" unit? If so all data will
be gone, i guess.

I have an Asus. Reading any information that is provided (I can't
remember what I read where- have you looked on the CD as well as in the
manual) and trying the programs out should help you to learn what they
do and what the difference is. You can always delete the backup files
afterwards if you want the space back. These programs can backup your
machine to a memory card whenever you choose to do it.
Asus Backup will let you choose whether to back up all of your PDA's
info, or just the PIM data. You can name the file as you want, and keep
as many backups as you want.
Smartkeeper will backup the whole machine to your memory card. It can
also do this automatically when the battery gets low- look at the
option when you open the program. It only allows one backup, you can't
choose the name.
These programs save the backup files to a memory card, so you need one
in the machine with sufficient space for your backups.

I don't use Activesync backup, but there is nothing to stop you trying
it and monitoring what happens. Activesync has help as a menu option
that you can read if you want to find out more.
