SBS 2k3 is an OS in and of itself, not running "on" anything other than
hardware. I suppose you might be able to find/configure a Virtual PC-esque
thing that might enable you to run it but that would be so limited that
youd'be better off with your current configuration. 2k and SBS 2k3 are built
on the same technology. Assuming you have the test time to do so you can
upgrade to SBS or you can take it for a test drive by following this link:

huhhh??? I thought SBS was a seperate thing?
So you say that SBS is completely integrated within 2003?
And is not seperate to install? I thought it was thing on itself, and
thought I have somewhere redt that you can install it on several OS's?
Forgive my bad English by the way.

I'm afraid you've been given misinformation. SBS is an entire OS all by it's
lonesome. I don't know what you read but I imagine you *could* make it run
"on Windows 2000" by using a virtual computer but that'd be just plain
silly. As for your English, it's quite okay. I don't speak English. I speak
American. (Trust me, they're not the same. <g>)

Anyhow, you can upgrade to 2k3 and it should be okay. Scott's already pretty
much given you all the answers you can need really. It's not recommended
that you use the upgrade method. Instead it's recommended that you backup
all your data, do a clean install, and then import your data. There is an
upgrade path available for Windows 2000 Server Edition available. See this
site for more information:

Small Business Server 2003 is an OS in its own right i.e you can intall it
on a blank formatted machine.

A. If you are asking will SBS 2003 run on a machine that previously ran 2000
server then the answer would be yes but:
1. the machine would need formatted (not sure if there is an upgrade path)
2. check the HCL list to see if all the hardware is supported (tends to be
fine though)

B. If you are asking can you install SBS 2003 on a machine that currently
runs 2000 server the answer would be, that's not how it works.

hope this helps. im sure someone else will give you a better answer.

cheers
