CBS carried the Heritage in HD in Las Vegas. Some of the cameras (or
most) were SD but the HD's were around the finishing holes starting at
15. The interviews were also in HD as well as the announcers at the
19th. All the SD was upconverted to 1080i. When in HD, the shots
were great...I lived there for 7 years in the late 80/early 90 and the
place is still beautiful, especially in HD!

That explains it. I started watching at the beginning, and
all shots were in low def so I turned it off. I tuned in again
after it had been going on about 2 hrs, and a few of the shots were
in hi def. Guess it was too much trouble for them to
carry their hi def cameras to the sub 15 holes.

Tomorrow, I'll just record the whole thing on my hard disk
and watch later. that way, I can fast forward the ugly
low def and see the last few minutes in hi def.

I too was disappointed with the coverage. It appeared to me that the
cameras behind the players (hand held ??) were SD and the cameras at the
holes were maybe HD. Anyway better than nothing I guess. Ho hum.

I just connected up my 1st OTA HD antenna - my old standard TV antenna - no
just laying on top of the roof - ran it into the back of the Samsung 360,
scanned, it worked great! HD in San Jose I'm pretty sure.
