i'm starting my first build this weekend, consisting of an asus p5b deluxe (965) mobo, an e6600 and 2x1GB corsair xms2 ddr-800 pc6400 c5 (5-5-5-12) and i've been doing some last minute check ups on it all and i've found in a few forums some scary posts about the memory not working with that motherboard. whether that was some set up issue or a genuine hardware clash i don't know, but most posts seem to have started around november 06. Does anyone know if this has been fixed in a new bios since?? any help would be appreciated.
First off, and don't worry about this, you posted in the Nvidia GPU section so you might not get much help.
Second, I think there may have been some conflict issues. Check Asus' website for bios updates for that motherboard. You can see what they updated and fixed.
If you don't get the help you need in this thread, re-post in the mobo section.

Very simple answer, simply don't get corsair. They currently use prmos IC and are way too overpriced for promos IC chips. I would spend maybe $200 on some Cas5 ram with promos IC, especially after trying one of their dominators with promos IC
here's some worthwhile memory for the price, and use the exact same chips as crucial's handse;ected pc6400cl4 ram that has proven to be a nice ocer, though it looks like newegg jacked up the price, used to be about $230
Always be sure the look at all the options, not what everyone is talking about only (and the xms sticks won't be that great for a while anyway), and I always know I'm glad to help and you can pm me whenever you want
